Restaurants:   While it is possible to book restaurants at the resorts they tend to be more expensive.
Since the fire many restaurants are closed.

Coming soon, a  Chinese restaurant with seating on the boardwalk overlooking the Caribbean Sea, an upstairs dining lounge or seating in the pub and street side.  A variety of oriental foods, reasonably priced.

Fisherman's Pub, Speightstown

This is as local as local gets. Fisherman's Pub is an open-air, waterfront restaurant. For years fishermen and other locals have come here daily for the inexpensive, authentic Creole buffet served at lunchtime.

A new sports bar with simple bar food and large screen televisions.  On the main street of Speightstown between Juma's and Jordan's.  Reasonably priced.

Hugo's, Speightstown

A very posh and expensive new restaurant at the north end of town.  We have not been there but others say it is interesting.

Surfside, Holetown

Surfside Restaurant & Bar is one of the oldest running beach bars on that legendary gold coast and is one of the last remaining beach bars on the island. The selection of cuisine has a vast variety and there is something for everyone, from seafood to vegetarian selections.

On the beach, one of the hot spots in town Wednesday and Friday evenings with live music.  Come early as it is popular.  Good bar food at reasonable prices.

Found on Church St opposite Barbados Lumber. Definitely a local restaurant, open for lunch. Very good local food and inexpensive beer.  Open for dinner by special request with Ryan the owner/chef.  Soccer often on the TV.

Christopher's, St. James

A great place for ribs, chicken and beer on Friday evenings.  Book ahead and arrive early.246-422-5249

Island Plates, Speightstown

This small congenial restaurant hidden away on the square is a treat not to be missed. Their dictum ¨come as visitors and leave as friends" could not be more apt. The food is excellent and imaginative. The service is friendly and efficient - in other words perfect. We strongly recommend this addition, both at lunchtime and in the evening.  Reservations are required for dinner.

De Sweet Pot, Speightstown

Definitely a local restaurant with great food and prices.  Just across the street from the bus terminal on Hwy 1.  Mark and family are your hosts.

Chefette, Speightstown

A fast food, burger, chicken, rotis and fries restaurant reasonably priced.  A giant playground for the kids.  Hard to miss on Hwy 1 opposite the petrol station.

Port St Charles, Six Men's

Just a kilometer up Hwy #1, the yacht club takes reservations for dinner.  Slightly expensive, but worth it.

Moon Town Fish Fry, Moon Town

A short taxis ride away to the north, this site is similar to Oistins in the south of the island. Local cuisine and cheap beer, wine and spirits.

Lime Grove, Holetown

This up-scale mall has several excellent restaurants among interesting shops and the local cinema.

Holetown

A 15 min. bus ride away, it has many good medium priced restaurants. A good place to explore are the Chattel houses, converted into small shops and First and Second streets.
